Reviews Summary
Marché Bastille is widely praised as a vibrant and authentic Parisian food market offering exceptional value. Visitors rave about the delicious rotisserie chicken, fresh seafood, and wide array of produce. While it can get crowded, especially on Sundays, the lively atmosphere and affordable prices make it a must-visit for food lovers and those seeking a genuine local experience.
"According to Google this market opens early at 7am on Thursday and Sunday.
I wouldn't recommend coming that early at 7am as I found out on a Sunday morning most places were just setting up and not quite ready for business.
Only place that's ready was the La Buvette du Marché which served inexpensive crepes/galettes, jus and expresso.
Had the galette complete and végétarien both 7€ @. Excellent for the cold morning.
Rest of the market I just have to come back at around 10-11am according to locals is best and vendors are fully ready."

"Definitely does not fully open by 7am. Vendors are mostly still setting.
Some are open but possibly they are fully setup for when the sun rises maybe.
All the shops seemed to be open right when sunrise happened.
Your mileage will vary depending on the time of year I suspect.
Had the sausage gallete from a stall in the middle of the marche, very good way to start the day."

"Marché Alimentaire Bastille was the most delightful surprise of our trip.
We had the best fruit, the best roasted chicken, and the most delicious sandwiches — everything tasted truly perfect. We also tried the fish salad, which was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the oysters and seafood looked absolutely fantastic. You could feel the freshness in every bite.
And on top of all that, the prices were unbelievably low compared to anywhere else."
