What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Louvre-Rivoli Metro Station for its unique artistic decoration, cleanliness, and convenient location near the Louvre Museum. It's highlighted as a 'museum in the metro' offering a free art preview. However, some travelers have reported negative experiences with ticket inspectors and fines within the broader Paris metro system.
"Really nice clean and good looking Metro, situated in a really good place right by the Louvre. Tickets are easy to get at the self service systems."

"Dear RATP Customer Service,
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with an incident that occurred in the Paris metro system on 10 May, which left me shocked, humiliated, and unfairly penalized.
I purchased a valid metro ticket and validated it at the entrance machine. The gates opened, and I entered the platform. Just two meters after entering, a ticket inspector approached me for a check. When I presented my ticket, I was told it could not be read. I explained that I had just validated it seconds ago and entered through the gate legally. However, the inspector insisted the ticket was not valid and issued a €60 fine for fare evasion.
This is entirely unfair, as the ticket had clearly been used properly. It seems the validation machine printed the information incorrectly or incompletely, which is not my fault. You can easily verify this by checking surveillance cameras, which will show me validating the ticket and entering the metro legally.
The behavior of the inspector was unprofessional and aggressive. She refused to listen, mocked me for speaking English, shouted over me, threatened me with the police, and claimed I would be fined €375 if I didn’t pay immediately. I felt harassed, robbed, and humiliated in a country I came to visit with respect.
As a tourist who followed the rules and paid for the ticket, I am extremely disappointed. Public service employees represent the face of your country, and this experience has left me with a deeply negative impression of Paris."

"Modern and CLEAN subway station decorated with egyptian statues.... some sort of blink for those at the Louvre museum.
The station has the new and modern protections that protects you from fall down to the rails which I find great to prevent suicidals and accidents."
