What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Le Jules Verne offers a spectacular dining experience within the iconic Eiffel Tower, lauded for its breathtaking panoramic views and impeccable service. While many praise the creative, Michelin-starred cuisine and exclusive access via a private elevator, some diners find the flavors don't consistently justify the high cost, suggesting the view is the primary draw. Despite mixed opinions on the food, it remains a highly sought-after destination for special occasions.
"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Le Jules Verne – Eiffel Tower, Paris
Visited: Last Night | Michelin: ★★ (deserving of ★★★)
I booked our reservation exactly 90 days in advance, knowing how difficult it is to secure a table at Le Jules Verne on short notice. The reservation process was smooth, with immediate confirmation and a helpful reminder a week prior.
My daughter and I arrived at 7:00 PM and were greeted at the base of the Eiffel Tower, then escorted to the private guest elevator. Being the first to ascend in the intimate seven-person lift felt special and set the tone for the night.
We were seated at a window table overlooking Paris, offering one of the most breathtaking views imaginable. The dining room is immaculate, beautifully designed, and maintained to the highest standards.
Service
The service was flawless from start to finish—attentive but never intrusive, polished yet warm. Every course arrived with perfect pacing, and we always felt looked after without ever feeling rushed.
Cuisine & Wine
Every dish was prepared to absolute perfection. The flavor balance, presentation, and temperature were all spot-on. I added the wine supplement, and the pairings were exceptional—elevating each course and showing real mastery by the sommelier. If I enjoyed the wines a bit more generously than intended, they were worth every sip.
Michelin Rating
Le Jules Verne currently holds two Michelin stars, but based on my experience—and having dined at several three-star restaurants worldwide—I genuinely believe it is operating at a three-star level. The combination of technique, service, location, and consistency merits that elevation at the next review.
Overall
I found no faults whatsoever with the evening.
Not with the food, the service, the ambiance, the timing, or the setting. It was a spectacular and memorable dinner shared with my daughter, and one that I would gladly repeat on our next visit to Paris.
Le Jules Verne delivers an experience fully worthy of its iconic location—and in my opinion, worthy of its future third Michelin star."

"Visit: Lunch – 20 October 2025
I had high expectations for Le Jules Verne, given its reputation and price, but the lunch was disappointing overall.
Service & personnel
From the moment we arrived, the service felt staged rather than genuinely welcoming. The staff were formally polite yet carried an undertone of arrogance, as if questions or requests were slightly inconvenient. For a two-star Michelin restaurant, I expected warmth and attentiveness, not distant superiority.
Seating & view – reservation not respected
Although we had reserved a table in the main dining area, we were seated elsewhere, facing mostly metal beams and interior tower machinery instead of the expected Paris view. This felt careless and, frankly, somewhat discriminatory, with no effort made to correct the situation. At these prices, this is unacceptable.
Food – elegant plates, very average flavours
The lunch menu highlights premium ingredients like crab, langoustine and farmhouse chicken, but the dishes did not live up to that promise.
Amuse-bouche tart
Nicely presented but flavourless, more decorative than culinary.
Crab/shellfish velouté
Pleasant texture, but the taste was flat and lacked definition. For a dish supposedly showcasing crab, it had little character.
Langoustine course
The langoustines were cooked well, yet the flavours were muted. What should have been a highlight felt bland and lacked depth or contrast.
Farmhouse chicken
Beautifully plated but ordinary in taste. The sauces were heavy and overwhelmed the meat instead of enhancing it.
Mashed potatoes & caviar croquette
Smooth but bland mash, and a small fried bite topped with caviar that looked luxurious but delivered little flavour. More style than substance.
Dessert
Visually appealing but overly sweet and lacking complexity. A nice photo, but an uninspiring end to an expensive meal.
Overall, the food was technically neat but emotionally empty, with nothing leaving a real impression or justifying the high cost.
Bill & payment – no bill, no change
The experience ended poorly. After paying in cash, we were not given the bill back, and the change was never returned until we explicitly asked. Even then, it was handled without apology. For a restaurant of this category, this is unacceptable.
Conclusion – not value for money
Between the cold service, the poor table despite a main-dining reservation, the average food hidden behind elegant presentation, and the unprofessional handling of payment, this lunch was far from value for money. For the price and reputation of Le Jules Verne, I expected a memorable experience. Instead, it is a place I would not choose again and cannot recommend."
My Account
"If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience look no further than Le Jules Verne. My wife and I enjoyed a leisurely and luxurious lunch there and I'll run out of superlatives by the end of the review. LJV combines three aspects to create a truly unique meal.
The meal - we ordered off the lunch menu - I had the crab entree, the langostine main and the rhubarb with ice cream option. My wife ordered the mushroom tortellini, the langostine and the roasted vanilla. Not only was every course exceptional with a mixture of intense flavors, but the chef added extra tasting items which added to the experience. We were delighted with each dish.
The venue - the unobstructed view of Paris on a sunny day from 400+ feet up speaks for itself.
The service - two words - exemplary/ impeccable. Our server Farhane Bezet is a perfect example . He described every dish in great detail and provided his services with pride in his work and the food he served.
La Jules Verne is the rare triple play of great food, unique venue, and unmatched service. Consider a meal there - you'll have a great day!"

The Eiffel Tower Experience
Beyond the practicalities, the very location elevates the dining experience. The restaurant is designed to maximize the breathtaking views of Paris. Whether you visit during the day for clear panoramas or at night to witness the city sparkle, the vista is a constant, stunning backdrop. This integration of the monument's presence into the dining setting is a key part of what makes Le Jules Verne a bucket-list destination.
Culinary Delights and Criticisms
However, not all diners find the food to be a perfect match for the price and reputation. Some reviews suggest that while technically proficient, the flavors can be somewhat muted or lack a memorable impact, especially when compared to other high-end dining establishments. Desserts, in particular, have received mixed feedback, with some finding them overly sweet or not as innovative as the savory courses. Ultimately, the culinary experience is subjective, and while many are delighted, others feel the view is the primary reason to dine here.
Reservation and Service Nuances
Service is a key component of the fine dining experience. Reviews often describe it as polished, attentive, and warm, with staff knowledgeable about the menu and wine. However, a few diners have reported instances of service feeling overly formal, distant, or even slightly arrogant, particularly during lunch. Issues with bill handling and change have also been noted by some guests, which is unusual for an establishment of this caliber. While most experiences are overwhelmingly positive regarding service, these isolated criticisms highlight the importance of consistent execution in fine dining.
