What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Jardin Atlantique is a unique, elevated urban garden built over train tracks, appreciated by locals for its functional green space and recreational facilities. While some visitors find its concrete-heavy design less aesthetically pleasing, others enjoy its quirky charm, hidden entrance, and relaxing atmosphere, especially the distinctive wooden loungers.
"Tourists: don’t bother. Not worth it.
Residents: a place to exercise and some greenery several floors above the train tracks.
Tennis court, exercise machines, benches to sit and lie on under grapevines, some trees & lawn.
Not very aesthetic.
See other reviews for directions, but basically: take the street elevator & keep climbing and wandering like a side quest."

"Hard to find so I added some photos and directions. From the area where you wait to get on the trains, look for the lost and found, assistance and police signs and follow them. If you are looking at the trains it’s to the right. Just past the list and found there’s a large door with a sign above “Jardin Atlantique.” Go up the large stairs and through the glass doors, keep going to the stairs, there’s a round building, go to the right, that brings you into the end of the garden area so just keep walking. There’s green areas and tennis courts lining the edge on a slightly lower area and flowers and sculptures. Also the large slanted wooden area where you can lie down reminds me of a beach. It has some areas covered with vines for shade. If the weather is nice it’s a great place to hang out while waiting for the train!"

"I discovered this garden by mistake while entering the Gare Montparnasse. Its a sort of concrete garden with greenery between buildings and on the roof of the train station . The kids section is fine with a big sandy area .
It needs more maintenance it looked outdated though . Not easy to stroll with a pousette . Thete is some ping pong tables and basket ball courts ."
