What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Hôtel de la Marine as an underrated Parisian gem, offering a taste of royal grandeur without the crowds of Versailles. The immersive audio guide and stunning views from the loggia are frequently praised, making it a highly recommended experience for history and art lovers. Some find the ticket price a bit high for the size of the venue, but most agree it's a worthwhile visit for its historical significance and beauty.
"Thoroughly enjoyed our hour long audio tour through the apartments and salons of this renovated piece of history. The audio tour had snippets of what happened on the rooms rather than describing each piece of furniture. If you aren’t able to go to one of the larger chateaus outside Paris, or just want easier access to a bit of historical grandeur, this is a nice choice. It was a pleasant change from the busier museums. I thought the price was too high though for this smaller place. I was disappointed the special exhibit of the Sheik’s art was not available, but the price was the same. I loved the terrace overlooking the place de Concorde."

"This has to be one of the most underrated attractions in Paris. Very beautiful, significantly less crowded, and free audioguide provided. People travel all the way to Versailles to see something like this, when in Paris, you can easily see it too at Hotel de la Marine."

"Reservation recommended. The audio guide experience at Hôtel de la Marine is fantastic! Each visitor receives their own headset, with many language options available. As you enter each room, the audio automatically plays the corresponding story and introduction. The narratives are vivid and engaging, with immersive background sounds that make the history and daily life truly come alive. Highly recommend this experience — it really adds depth and atmosphere to the visit!"
