I spent about two hours here in total, taking my time to soak up more or less everything there was to read.
I thought you'd learn more about the ruins in here themselves but it turned out the protagonist of the exhibition is the river Seine. Although it was a tad different from my expectations I took it as a pleasant surprise as it was fascinating to learn more about how the river had been transformed by humans.
The exhibition takes you through the history of the Seine from 100,000 years ago, through Roman rules, Medieval times, all the way to the modern day. I particularly enjoyed seeing the ruins of the ancient Roman pier, which helped you imagine what life around the Seine must have looked like about two millenia ago.
