What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Auberge Bressane is celebrated for its authentic, delicious French cuisine, particularly its hearty main courses and exquisite soufflé desserts. While the food and rustic ambiance consistently impress, some diners have noted occasional inconsistencies in service speed during busy periods. Overall, it's a highly recommended spot for a memorable Parisian dining experience.
"My husband and I tried this place for dinner and so glad we did! Adeline greeted us at the door and accommodated us even though I had messed up our reservation! She was so friendly and kind. The restaurant is so quaint and all the servers were cheerful, kind, and on top of everything. The food is the best we have had our entire trip or our trips here before! We did not get an appetizer but immediately ordered the souffle trio for dessert. I got the Chateaubriand with Bearnaise sauce, and my husband got the chicken in cream sauce. Both were so good and my filet was so tender it melted in my mouth. They have an extensive wine selection as well. The souffles are so amazing! The portions were plentiful and we were stuffed upon leaving! The prices are very fair for the quality of the food and dishes. This place was packed for good reason so book your reservation quickly! The servers all seemed to work together seemlessly and stay on top of your needs. We would highly recommend and will be back on our next trip!"

"The food was absolutely amazing. Every dish was exquisite. Best mashed potatoes we have ever had. Service, however detracted from the experience. It took 20 min before a waiter stopped by. After dinner after waiting 15 min, we had to flag down a waiter to ask about our dessert soufflé. He acted like he had no idea we had an order. But it did come 5 min later."

"My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful lunch at Auberge Bressane. The meal was delicious and the servers were delightful! They sang the happy birthday song to my husband (I didn’t ask but they caught on somehow), and obliged me when I asked if they would mind singing it in French too. Barbara made it so special and fun! We very much enjoyed our time there and will definitely be back! (Will try to post video of singing but not sure I’ll be successful.)"

The Heart of Bresse Cuisine
Dishes like coq au vin (chicken braised in red wine) and quenelles (delicate fish dumplings) are staples that showcase the region's culinary heritage. Even simple sides, like the mashed potatoes, receive rave reviews for their exceptional quality. This commitment to traditional flavors and quality ingredients is a recurring theme in visitor feedback.
Beyond the main courses, the desserts are a major draw. The soufflé trio is particularly famous, offering a delightful end to the meal. The airy, perfectly baked soufflés are often cited as a highlight, making it worth visiting even if just for dessert.
Service with a Smile (Mostly)
This positive service extends to special occasions. Several reviews mention the staff going the extra mile, such as singing 'Happy Birthday' in French, which adds a memorable touch to celebrations. This personal attention contributes significantly to the overall enjoyment of the meal.
However, a few reviews do note occasional lapses in service, such as longer wait times for initial attention or for dessert orders. While these instances seem to be exceptions rather than the rule, it's worth noting that consistency can sometimes be a challenge during peak hours.
