Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the American Library in Paris for its extensive English-language collection, welcoming atmosphere, and historical significance. It's lauded as a peaceful haven for reading, studying, and working, with friendly staff enhancing the experience. Some wish for more readily available information about its rich past upon arrival.

"Such a wonderful find on our first day in Paris! We stopped by for a little while after lunch and just enjoyed perusing the shelves. If you're like me and enjoy library history and old books, you'll love the periodicals section. Some of them date back to the 19th century and are lined up in these magnificent rows...

I wish I had known more about the library's history before our visit because it has a long and fascinating past! Today, it functions like your regular public library (albeit in France), but it can be a great source even for tourists just to unwind, read or work on projects for school/work, and soak in a little bit of our shared history."

Cassidy Tucker

"I have spent a lot of time in this library over the past year for my last year of studies in Paris, and I have to say it was a really great place to work. The staff are all incredibly friendly, from the librarians to security, and the facilities available are good too. There are good seating areas to do some work, 2 ‘office’ styled rooms that you can book to work in private, and obviously, a huge collection of English language content, ranging from travel guides to archived magazines. I cannot recommend this place enough if you have work to do, or if you just fancy going to do some reading - it is a great environment for both. Thank you very much!"

Frank Mansell

"Quiet, well-maintained library with a wide selection of books, magazines, and digital resources. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Comfortable seating and study areas made it a perfect place to read or work on projects. Free Wi-Fi is a huge bonus."
