What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Tombeau de Merlin to be a worthwhile stop, especially for its mystical atmosphere and connection to Arthurian legends, though some note it's not a grand monument. The surrounding forest and nearby Fountain of Youth are frequently praised, making it a pleasant experience for those who manage expectations.
"If you go in with the expectations of knowing what this is you will be fine. Is a cool place to say that you've been and the Fountain of Youth is nearby. The nature trails are worthwhile as well. If you are driving by definitely make a stop. I would not go hours out of your way for this unless you are a huge King Arthur fan."
Christopher Piatt
"Must have been beautiful in the past but was quite disappointing as others have pointed out."
Yvonne Hunziker
"First off, this is not a French Stonehenge but it is a well worthwhile stop while traveling through the area. Parking is free and caters for a good number of vehicles. There is a forest walk that takes you to the visitors centre experience which is paid for but you can just do the walk and use the toilets.
The stones are set in a wooded glade, some horizontal but many standing.
There were a few people milling around but you can generally find an angle without showing them for pictures."
