What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Hôtel de Ville Metz for its stunning architectural presence and its location on the beautiful Place de la Comédie, often highlighting the impressive views alongside the Metz Cathedral. While the exterior and square are universally admired, some reviews mention challenges with administrative appointments and reception desk efficiency.
"Absolutely inappropriate to give appointments for a certain time and not respect them - I waited half an hour after my appointment time and the officer I was supposed to see never showed up. Somehow in the whole admin desk no one could step up to process a simple request for me."
Paula Gasparian
"Employees in charge of the population register are efficient (and you can pick up your IDs every weekdays without appointments from 8h to 8h30/13h to 13h30)
But regarding the reception desk, let's just say politely that getting information from them is quite a folkloric experience."
Philippe-Alexandre C.
"Absolutely stupendous and beautiful Square with historical cobbled pavement. Bordered by the Gothic Metz cathedral and Town Hall. This is the Old Town of Metz. The Square was created by order of King Louis XV as location for all things powerful like the executive, legislative and judiciary. This is a stunning area to explore. Visited again in January twenty-twenty and still looks stunning as the first time. It's framing the cathedral of Metz and the office of tourism of Metz. One stupendous building, worth a look."
