"We were fined 68 euros for sitting down to have a snack by the lake. Access to the small beach in question was clearly prohibited. There was no barrier or border to indicate that we were leaving the authorized path. The "no access" sign was tiny, displayed on a thin wooden post that blended in with the tree trunks. We felt like we were caught in some kind of ambush because the police arrived suddenly, taking care to wait until a young rider had watered her horse before issuing a fine. One of the police officers had an automatic weapon in his hands, 2 meters from my 1-year-old daughter. A polite reminder would have been appropriate. Instead, a completely disproportionate armed check and an inappropriately harsh and provocative tone. This intervention shook us up while we were together as a family, in peace. A cleverly organized racket that leaves a bitter taste of the place and what is becoming of France in general. Tough on the weak, gentle on the strong. We will never set foot in this charming place again. Disgusting."
