"We turned up unannounced and were very lucky to be shown round. The place is amazing. Wish our french had been better to understand more about the place but we got the general gist. It's free but there is an honesty box which deserves a decent donation to keep this fabulous place open to the public. It was one of the highlights of our normandy road trip."

And so did a whole bunch of other people. We got divided into two groups, and went in with the second. Tours are in French, so adjust your expectations if you're language impaired.
An extra bonus for our tour was the fact that part of the lighting in a section of the bunker system failed. So flashlights and cell phone LED lights was it. Pretty freaking spooky and awesome.
On any case, the tour was very interesting, the guide knowledgeable, and the site is fantastic. Recommend it highly to history buffs that do not suffer claustrophobia. Kids that are ok with walking and climbing stairs up and down for 2 hours should also be ok."
