"Beautiful scenery. We were not able to climb to top of lighthouse as tired employee needed to have 1 hour rest break after 17 minutes."

Justas Gavėnas

"Located northwest of the village and port of Le Conquet in Finistère, the Kermorvan lighthouse was built in granite stones in 1849 on a rock, at the tip of the Kermorvan peninsula.

The Kermorvan lighthouse is considered to be the westernmost lighthouse in France. It secures navigation between Ouessant and Le Conquet, of which it dominates the port from the other bank of the ria. Its range is 22 nautical miles (or 40 km).

The lighthouse having the shape of a square tower 20.5m high and connecting to the shore by a granite bridge. It is now automated, however, originally, a housing for the guards was arranged on the ground floor then a house had been built adjoining its base.

It is easy to get there and even to go around it. You can get there from the D28 at the exit of Le Conquet in the direction of the Blancs Sablons beach. Parking in the isthmus at the end of the road. Then follow on foot the small tarred road behind the barrier. The lighthouse is 1 km away.
