Calm waters and lagoons left from the high tides so the kids can safely play without the parents having to worry about strong currents or waves. The bunkers in the beach also form nice calm areas to swim on low tide. The water is crystal clear! At late afternoon the high tide links the ocean with the small lagoon forming a water slide making the area a playground for all grown ups and children. Just be aware the access from the parking lot to the beach is a very steep sand dune making the way back to the parking area a bit challenging for unfit people."

"A gorgeous secluded beach which is dog friendly (not officially, but several dogs we’re frolicking happily) and child friendly in that it has fewer big waves and a nice little inlet for paddling. A fairly steep walk on the dunes from the carpark, but worth it! Not very busy even on an August Sunday."

"A magnificent walk through the dunes, then a descent to the beach to stroll among the bunkers that formed the Atlantic Wall during World War II, a barrier protecting access to enemies arriving by sea. These blockhouses are best seen at low tide, otherwise they are submerged! Markers of the erosion of our coastline, they appear and disappear with the seasons and storms, giving them a certain romantic poetry. Moreover, every year on Belvédère Beach at the tip of Cap Ferret, you can admire these blockhouses moving, appearing and disappearing from year to year, with the Dune of Pilat in the background!
Today, the blockhouses are integrated into the dune landscape and have been reclaimed by graffiti artists! But also by nature, which is reclaiming its rights !"
