What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Arkéos for its excellent accessibility and the immersive experience of its recreated medieval village and well-documented indoor museum exhibits. The multilingual descriptions are a significant plus for international guests. However, some disappointment arises from the park not being fully finished and the inconsistent presence of actors, which can sometimes lead to a quieter experience than anticipated.
"We visited the Archeology Museum in September 2024 during the week.
The parking was very good and the accessibility was excellent. We visited with a double buggy, so tested this well.
The exhibits in the indoor museum were excellent. We very much enjoyed the models of the villages. There were many descriptions in English too, which we appreciated a lot.
Outdoors the recreated village was amazing to walk around. We enjoyed it greatly. The tavern was a particularly lovely feature.
The only reason for not giving this five stars was the lack of any actors in the recreated village. We were led to believe from the website that these would be there."

"We definately threw a spanner in the works when an English family showed up wanting tickets. It's not something that happens often apparently.
Either way they were great with us. The "actors" were great with our son and really tried. Felt super bad because the place is amazing (if history is your thing) but it was quite empty on a Saturday.
Fitted in well with our visit to the Castle in Pierrefonds.
Thank you to all the staff for being welcoming and accomadating. A great added bonus to our road trip."

"Arkéos is a brilliant project. The museum, even it is small, pesents objects from the neolithic era to medieval times. The texts are written in Frensh, Dutch, English and most important in Braille. There is a lot to see and to touch. The outside areas are still not finish, a real pity! Make a visit."
