Reviews Summary
Visitors generally have a positive experience at Château de Couches, appreciating its historical significance, beautiful grounds, and affordable entry. The wine tasting is a particular highlight for many. Some minor drawbacks include potential restrictions on interior photography and occasional language barriers during wine tastings.
"I had an amazing afternoon here with my tour group last month. We were free to wander around the gardens and enjoy the castles with an audio guide. The history was fascinating. Especially the part about the bones. We had wine tasting which was really interesting and tasty. Highly recommended if you wish to see a real French Chateau that has been beautifully preserved for it's history."

"Visiting the chateau de Couches is a nice experience. It is true that the main building is not open for visits, but for € 6 one gets to see a good deal. The tower, the chapel and the garden behind the castle are worth it. Good explanation sheets available. Nice people at the reception. Nice views. Some of the trees in the garden are magnificient.
Parking outside of the castle was in August, weekday, 2025 easy. We missed the gift shop, I am not sure if there really was one. Only one point: taking pictures inside the available buildings is not everywhere allowed. Why not?
We bought tickets at the entrance. It was not very busy, so all in all a nice experience with good relationship price and quality."

"Beautiful grounds. Grounds tour is a recording you take with you - they have both English and French which was very informative.
Wine tasting was slightly disappointing- was done entirely in French."
