What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Cloître Saint-Corneille for its serene atmosphere, free entry, and welcoming nature, especially towards families. The combination of historical charm, art installations, and the delightful on-site cafe makes it a standout experience. Some minor drawbacks include potential cash-only policies at the cafe.
"I would give this place ten stars. We were wandering past after a disappointing visit to the chateau (where we felt unwelcome as we have small children!) and thought we’d have a quick look. The woman working at the museum was SO kind, friendly and sweet with our children (5 & 3). The museum is free and we were given a booklet for the children with lots of activities which my five year old loved. Whilst it’s quite small, there’s loads of detail and the kids booklet really helped me engage with the exhibits too. There are a few activities and puzzles for the children which was great. We spent about 75-90mins in the museum (which is small) and then went for a lovely tea and cake in the cafe where we felt very welcome. My children played hide and seek in the middle of the cloisters. This was our favourite place we have visited on our holiday. We tried to buy a postcard but they don’t accept bank cards and we didn’t have any cash. We would go back here in a heartbeat.
Many thanks to the kind lady who was so kind to our family and loved the foxes on my son’s trousers 🦊"

"Actually a tiny museum, but full of atmosphere. And since it is free of charge, you will lose neither time nor money. It teaches you a lot about the significance of monasteries around 1200 and later. Nice sculptures and masonry."

"Amazing place. Cakes and coffee barring the perfect threshold."
