Memoriale di Caen: un promemoria vivo sulla tragicità della storia dell’umanità. Reviews Summary

Visitors find Le Mort-Homme Memorial to be a poignant and historically significant site, particularly appreciated for its natural reclamation of the battlefield. While some note the subtle landscape and overgrown paths, the informative signposts offer valuable context for understanding the intense WWI conflict. It's considered a worthwhile visit for its historical depth and serene, natural setting. Reddit

"A 1.5km hike through the battleground of Dead man's Hill. There are 10 signposts detailing very well what happened here during Ww1 between the French and German battle for control of this highground. However, whilst the trail takes you from information point to information point, it does not point out what you are actually seeing around you. The area has been replanted and now us left to nature. You are walking past craters, trenches, tunnels, burials and you can hardly see it for all the stinging nettles, blackberries, etc. It is a very nice walk through nature, and the historical boards are very interesting, but don't expect to see barbed wire, dugout or other such things as you do at other similar sites. Wear long trousers and sensible shoes: the official paths are overgrown"
