"Great views of mountains and town in valley. Lots of hiking trails up there. Good value, no reservations needed. For the cable car and the additional ski lift ride up to “Index”, it was 41 euros."

"At the midpoint of the cable car, there is a restaurant, a kiosk, and, of course, a stunning view and multiple opportunities for magnificent hikes. We did the Grand Balcon Sud trail and then ascended back to Chamonix via the Brévent cable car station. There’s also an additional open cable car just a few steps away.
Parking can fill up quickly, so it’s better to take the bus to get here. This also gives you more flexibility to return by a different route if you wish."
