What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
ESF Chamonix is widely praised for its professional and patient instructors who make learning ski and snowboard enjoyable and effective, especially for beginners. Many highlight the positive impact instructors have on building confidence. However, a rare negative review points to the importance of instructor training in empathy and respect, suggesting that while most experiences are excellent, individual instructor quality can vary.
"Absolutely fantastic ski and snowboard school. We had 2 ski lessons for 3 people with Claudine who was brilliant, and along with giving me lots of tips, gave my daughter a great start to her skiing experience which filled her with confidence, she was flying down blue slopes in Chamonix within days of starting skiing. My son had a snowboarding experience with a great guy, called Gasper I think. It appeared to be a fantastic lesson, he came back thrilled with himself having been given the confidence to do red slopes and even a bit of off piste. He seemed to have had a lot of fun and couldn’t stop talking about it after the lesson. We also met other instructors as we were with another group who had a variety of different instructors and every one of them were so lovely and helpful. I would highly recommend using ESF for ski and snowboard lessons."

"THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Thomas was my Snowboarding instructor. I ski, never snowboarded before but I want to learn. I’m a beginner with no snowboarding experience, and that’s the reason why I hired him for the whole afternoon! To learn! Yet, He made me feel like I’m stupid. The worst attitude, NO PATIENCE at all. He even cursed at me saying put*n when I kept falling.
There’s no bad students always bad teachers. I’m always been really good at sports but the way he’s made me feel was just not respectful. He even made some comments about ppl from our country.
Note to ESF: please train your instructors, not all ppl can be teachers/instructors. Basic respect, patience and empathy is key to be one."

"Hands down the best school in town! Communication was seamless from the start, coordinating classes and schedule, and my son had an incredible experience. We got so lucky with his instructors, Eric 👍and Cristophe 👍 these guys are the real deal 🎁You can tell they’re passionate about what they do, creating an environment that’s both fun and safe. They were extremely patient and so kind, especially with beginners. Truly huge hearts for teaching!❤️❤️❤️
My son did a week-long training and had an amazing time. We’re planning to return next year! Huge shoutout to the entire team at the school—you’ve all been absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend!"
