Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Bordeaux's stunning 18th-century architecture, particularly the Place de la Bourse and its Miroir d'eau, and the city's overall charm and walkability. The rich history and vibrant atmosphere are frequently praised, making it a highly recommended destination. Some find parking challenging and certain popular spots can get crowded.

"This is a small square but quaint with a very rich history that goes back to the middle ages! It's a beautiful spot which is pedestrians only access yet it was once a bus depot, a massive car park and once had Palais de L'Ombrière (Palace of the Shadows) home of the Dukes of Aquitane. The most prominent landmark here is the Porte Cailhau. Few interesting features here are the stainless steel rocks sculptures turn waterlillies and a stunning bronze relief of the city of Bordeaux for the visually impaired people to touch and feel! Fabulous idea! It's surrounded by fantastic restaurants and cafés and benches to sit down and enjoy the ambience of this small but tranquil square. Absolutely recommended for all ages to visit and explore. Great experience that doesn't cost you anything in this beautiful city of Bordeaux!"
