Reviews Summary
Visitors find the German Military Cemetery Belleau to be a deeply moving and impactful site, often described as more poignant than larger memorials. The sheer number of white crosses is a powerful visual representation of the immense loss of life during WWI. While somber, it's considered a must-see for understanding the full scope of the conflict.
"More than 8 thousand men are buried in this small cemetery. Not as big as the American, however, much more impactful. Young men that fought for what they believed was right. Hindsight shows that it was not for a lot that millions of lives were wasted. Truly disheartening to see. There is no parking per day, but you can park your car in the entrance."
