What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Jardin Antique Méditerranéen for its unique historical concept and beautiful, tranquil atmosphere, especially during peak bloom in May. However, some reviews note that the garden can appear neglected at times, and information is predominantly in French, which can be a barrier for some.
"Went here after a lazy morning, planning to learn about the historical flora of the area, see if we could encounter any interesting species for a more Mediterranean garden at home. All the information is in french so we worked hard with our limited language to understand the very informative short discussions of historical developments and uses by the Greco-Romans. After 2 hours we were reminded the garden closes for lunch, but that we could come back. We used the last 15 mins for a fairly rapid walk through the rest of the grounds, only to find we’d only got about 1/5 of the way through! We returned for the afternoon to complete our tour. The colours and aromas were captivating. We shared the experience with few other people on a Tuesday in August, seeing 3 other visitors all day. Such a relaxing way to spend as long as your interest requires of you, in learning about the domestication of vines, medical herbs and Roman irrigation. Thank you"

"The time we visited the gardens, there were nearly no flowers in blossom. All in all a nice place to visit and discover the marine trees and bushes."

"We were too early in March to get the best … may is the month par excellence… nevertheless the concept of Greek and Roman gardening is well worth the effort …"
