Reviews Summary

Visitors appreciate Musée Réattu for its extensive collection of Jacques Réattu's art and the surprising inclusion of Picasso's drawings, all housed within a beautiful 15th-century building. However, some find the modern art sections less appealing and note that exhibit descriptions are primarily in French, necessitating translation tools.

"An 18 room art museum that came as part.of a multi pass tourist pass that we purchased for €15 which gives you access to 4 monuments and 2 museums.

We didn't know many of the artists, except for Picasso. Amazing to see some of his original artworks in person.

There were some rooms at the end that housed some modern sculptures, art and a sound room that weren't really our vibe.

A great mix of art through the ages and we are glad we came."

Samantha Platt

"Built in the 1400s for The Priority of the Order of Malta and was sold to the Arles artist Jacque Reattu in 1793. Reattu’s daughter Elisabeth acquired the building and sold his collection and the building to the city of Arles in 1867.

There are over 800 pieces by Reattu, drawings by Picasso, paintings by Antoine Raspel and many sculptures and a collection of over 4000 photographs.

A very extensive art collection. Allow at least an hour or more.
Highly recommend."

Mike Zito

"The painter Jacques Réattu's work is worth discovering and admiring it, but even the museum itself is a beautiful historic building. Don't miss it if you're in Arles and interested in art. Very nice place!"
