"I enjoyed my visit the Сhateau. We booked our tour in advance on the official website. Recommend to book the same way. Chateau works not every day.
My husband knows French and he enjoyed listening to the guide. I know English, so I used the online app.
The Chateau is very impressive! I wished I had taken a longer tour to visit the terrace as well!!

"Visually stunning, this place is a must see!
The villa itself is only accessible with a guide and several tours in French or English are offered. Our guide for the hour long visit, Olivia, spoke excellent English and was able to share her obvious passion for this incredible place.
I found the booking page slightly confusing and ended up paying for a child place that should have been free… next time I will call to book.
It would be interesting to show the state in which the building and furnishings were in before the restorations because it makes you realise the skill of the restoration artists and craftsmanship that was necessary, but also the full extent of these restorations.
Truly fascinating. We will visit again.
We arrived by train and enjoyed a short walk to reach the entrance of the chateau."

The Visionary Emmanuel Laurens
The villa's design is a fascinating fusion of styles, drawing inspiration from ancient civilizations and exotic locales. Emmanuel Laurens aimed to create a 'palace of modern times' and an 'antiquarian villa,' a concept that is vividly realized in the château's architecture and interior decoration. The project involved numerous artisans, including architects, interior designers, stained-glass artists, mosaicists, and sculptors, all contributing to the rich and detailed aesthetic.
Emmanuel Laurens' personal vision is deeply embedded in every aspect of Villa Laurens. His desire to create a unique living space that reflected his global experiences is evident in the intricate details and the harmonious, yet diverse, stylistic elements. The château stands as a remarkable monument to his original personality and his ability to translate his travels into a tangible architectural masterpiece.
Art Nouveau and Eclectic Architecture
The villa's eclectic nature means it doesn't adhere to a single style but rather synthesizes various influences. You'll find elements inspired by Egyptian, Indian, Persian, Greek, and Spanish art, seamlessly integrated into the overall design. This fusion creates a visually rich and complex environment, showcasing Emmanuel Laurens' broad artistic appreciation and his desire to create a truly unique home.
The restoration efforts have meticulously preserved and highlighted these architectural features, allowing visitors to appreciate the craftsmanship and the innovative spirit of the era. The interplay of materials, the decorative details, and the overall aesthetic make Château Laurens a significant site for understanding the evolution of architectural styles at the turn of the 20th century.
