Instead of walking up hill,you have the option to see main land marks in évian by funiculaire (train that climbs through a mountain )

"The funiculaire is a nice old-fashioned way to travel up the hill in Evian. The experience itself is maybe a 4-star one, but since the city has decided to make it free of charge I am giving it five 😁. During day time the ride is offered every 20 minutes. You can do a nice walk from upper most station, the gare Amont. Follow the the signs to the belvedère, which is about a 10 mins walk. From there you can descend back to the city center in about 20 minutes."
