What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Allas Sea Pool is praised for its stylish, modern design and prime waterfront location, offering a unique Finnish sauna and swimming experience. Visitors enjoy the floating saunas and the invigorating seawater pool. However, some find the changing rooms cramped and poorly maintained, and the outdoor areas lack shelter, leading to a less comfortable experience for some, particularly in adverse weather.
"A "stylish", "modern" marine spa in a prime location, great for photos, but the comfort level falls short. Only three outdoor saunas, small and packed in the late afternoon. The outdoor areas lack any shelter or storage for towels and belongings in rain. The changing rooms are tiny, poorly cleaned, and get slippery – honestly, I found them quite unsafe. Staff are polite and professional, but completely passive: you have to ask, because no info is offered of their own accord. Overall, a slick concept, but maintenance and service feel underwhelming."

"Dared Myself To Visit. Glad I Did. Bring a Proper Attitude, it Gets A Bit Nippy Outdoors. Place is Spacious, Came on a Weekday and It Was Just Enough Busy to Feel Comfortable. Outdoor Pool is Great For Laps. Cold Plunge is Exhilarating. Saunas Provide Just Enough Release and Random Nooks and Spots to Relaxe Offer A Relaxing Environment. Would Gladly Come Back Again. Group Friendly. Would Visit Again. There is some construction outdoors but it didn't lessen the experience. 💯 This is a locals favorite."

"This place is amazing!!! I had a long layover in Helsinki and visited Allas Pool for the first time. Was great to experience the sauna culture and jump in their ocean water.
But the reason for the 5 star review really is that I forgot my daypack at Allas when I returned to the airport… after emailing their friendly staff they agreed to hold my bag for a month before I could come back on my return flight (which also had a long layover in Helsinki!). I was shocked that they would do this for me. Fantastic service, great way to experience Finland.
Would 100% recommend this place to anyone, even if you’re just on a long layover!!"

The Finnish Sauna Experience
For those new to saunas, it's a ritual of heat and relaxation. You typically spend time in the hot sauna, then cool down, often with a dip in a pool or even a cold shower. This cycle can be repeated. While some saunas are quite hot, the Allas Sea Pool saunas are generally considered comfortable for most visitors. Bringing slippers is highly recommended, especially during colder months, as the pathways between saunas and pools can be chilly.
Beyond the saunas, the Allas Sea Pool complex is designed for overall wellness. The saunas are a central part of the Finnish lifestyle, promoting relaxation and social connection. Experiencing them here offers a glimpse into this cherished cultural practice.
Navigating the Pools: Warm vs. Cold
The children's pool is a great addition for families, though it's typically only open during the summer season. This ensures a safe and enjoyable water experience for younger visitors.
The star attraction for the adventurous is the seawater pool. Directly fed by the Baltic Sea, this pool offers a bracingly cold experience, especially during winter. It's an invigorating plunge that many visitors find exhilarating and a true test of their mettle. Be prepared for a quick dip unless you're accustomed to cold water immersion!
Beyond the Swim: Amenities and Events
The venue also hosts various events, from concerts to special gatherings, adding a dynamic element to the visitor experience. Checking their schedule in advance can enhance your visit, allowing you to potentially catch a live performance or a themed evening.
While the core experience revolves around swimming and saunas, the Allas Sea Pool aims to be a comprehensive relaxation and entertainment hub. The modern design and prime waterfront location contribute to its appeal as a destination for both locals and tourists seeking a unique Helsinki experience.
