"One of the most pleasant places in the Suva region, Colo-i-Suva Forest National Park is a beautiful spot about 20 minutes north of the city centre. The protected rainforest is home to a multitude of birdlife (easier to hear than to see), hiking trails, and many refreshing swimming spots.
Access is from Princess Road, with a reassuring security gate before a pleasant 2km gravel road that leads to the main car park. There have been a number of incidents in the park, but things have improved with security here, and at the car park.
Entry is $5 per person ($1 for locals), payable at the car park most days, but on Sundays and public holidays at the office opposite the main gate.

"Moderately maintained little wooded park up in the higher elevation above town, with some manmade pools and waterfalls. About 25 minutes drive from downtown / cruise terminal and an entry fee of $5FJD. A few free restrooms / changing rooms at the parking lot (none elsewhere). Longest loop trail takes a little under an hour (Fitbit showed 5K steps or 2.25 miles), if you do not stop to swim. Trail is narrow and a lot of steps... sometimes handrail, but often no handrail (sometimes right in middle of water crossing). Some slippery rocks and wood steps. Moderate difficulty for the terrain and wouldn't recommend for those unsteady on their feet. Some fallen trees and old concrete steps and broken handrails just left in woods as refuse. Minimal wildlife. No views of city or ocean. It is nice for the locals to have the woods, but as a tourist I wouldn't go out of my way to visit."
