Reviews Summary
Visitors praise St. Simeon and St. Anne's Church for its unique wooden architecture and the profound sense of peace it offers, providing a welcome respite from crowded tourist areas. While some have noted inconsistent opening hours, the church is cherished as a beautifully rebuilt historical landmark with a strong community spirit.
"I have walked many times by St. Simeon's and St. Anne's Church but every time the church has been closed, until my latest trip to Tallinn. Even though we had only a little time left before the departure of our ship, I wanted finally to see this church because I sensed the church must be somehow special.
Walking through the old town made me tired. All too many tourists. Everywhere. Referents, which the old town some day had, cannot be touched even in imaginary way, they have been killed by money, that is, local greediness and tourist masses. What is left, is for a (post)modern mind a spectacle, a series of still images without history. And finally, the truth of the old town is uncovered by the expensive cars everywhere on its streets. Sad.
That's why, St. Simeon's and St. Anne's Church is different. The possibility to touch, to feel, to breath, to be the Peace. Or Spirituality. Or whatever you wanna name it."

"A wonderful project of rebuilding a historical estonian church, which succeeded and made this a beautiful landmark near the Tallinn harbour. The church community there is tightly nit and the priest of the church is a smart and kind man."

"I've discovered this church during my last trip to Tallinn in mkd-summer. Absolutely beautiful wooden architecture. Even though it's an eastern orthodox church, it's architectural style isn't purely eastern orthodox which makes it special."
