Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the unique hexagonal basalt columns and the stunning natural beauty of Los Tercios Waterfall, often calling it a 'hidden gem.' The low entry fee is a significant plus. However, the steep and slippery path down to the falls requires caution and appropriate footwear, and some find it challenging. The waterfall's flow can be minimal during the dry season.

"What an extraordinary place to visit at a $2 cost of entry! The views of Suchitlan river, the lechuga covered waters was impressive. There are warnings heading down to the Cascade. You definitely have to have the right shoes to trek down such slanted, slippery & narrow walkway. The humidity and extreme heat will definitely slow you down along with the mosquitos so make sure you bring bug spray. The pictures will be worth it!"

"Loved this waterfall. We’ve always enjoyed basalt columns but this is the first time we’ve been able to hike over them. Surprisingly picturesque and a perfect activity to do with our restless 4 year old the day after a long travel to El Salvador. Rocky path down but we didn’t find it particularly challenging. Our kid did the hike on his own with occasional help for safety. Great view of the lake at the top as well. Only $1 per adult and $1 to park was a great value."

Grant

"This waterfall was an absolute haven in the middle of a very hot and sunny day. It’s only small but very beautiful and for $1 entry who can complain! However I will make one complaint the descent to the base of the waterfall was a little treacherous, so please ensure sensible footwear and reasonable level of agility. Not such a great spot for swimming but if you want to have a nice shower under the waterfall this is definitely possible and highly recommended!"
