"After reading about the vast amount of bird species in the Mindo region, I knew I had to go see them. I decided to hire a guide as I knew nothing about the area at all. I stumbled upon Richard Hernandez's website and read nothing but good things so decided to give it a shot. Let's just say I made a great choice. Richard promptly asked me what I wanted to do and see and set a schedule around it for our private tour. He brought his own vehicle and picked me up from my hotel so I didnt have to worry about a thing. At the start of our tour he realized we had a little extra time to see the Cock-of-the-rock bird, which wasnt originally on our schedule - but he made it happen AND we still completed everything else. Richard was an excellent guide who was able to point out well hidden birds to me all day and teach me all sorts of things about them. He even logged everything we saw while I was taking pictures and sent me the log later. Plus he had some great stories for when we were on the road (he speaks excellent English!)
At the end of the day I think we ended up seeing over 50 species of birds, with some very rare ones included. I had a great time and will definitely be doing this again the next time I'm in Ecuador."

"It was great. Beautiful place to see waterfalls, feed hummingbirds, see butterflies, enjoy downtown area, bird watching, and watch the gentle rain over the countryside and open stores and restaurants. North of Quito this was our favorite place"

"We went on a day tour of the Mindo Cloud Forest with Richard. Wow!! It was unforgetable!! We saw and learned so many amazing things about the Cloud Forest. He customized our adventure to meet our bucketlist hopes. Richard is so knowledgeble about a wide range of things and we enjoyed our conversations. Can't think of anything that could have improved the day. This day tour was the highlight of our trip to Ecuador."
