"We added this excursion to our trip to Otavalo. We arrived right before they closed (5:00) but still had the chance to take the boat ride, which was entertaining and informative. The boat ride takes about 20 minutes. The guide told us about the lake and the small island in the middle, including some legends. There were vendors at the port as well as coffee and hot beverages. I highly recommend arriving at least an hour before they close to take advantage of all they offer."
