We didn't feel like paying for beach chairs so we sat a little bit off the main part of the beach and no one bothered us about it.
We learned the hard way that we should have checked the wind direction and swell before going to make sure we could enjoy the water. North and Northeast winds will affect your ability to swim and snorkel. When we were there no one was allowed to swim because the swell was over 1.2 meters.

"One of the most beautiful beaches I’ve seen in the Dominican republic. When you walk in, it looks a little sketchy, but there’s a ton of shops. We felt safe the entire time most of the shops are covered by trees, but the beach is beautiful and the sunsets are amazing. Plus the Clearwater definitely recommend. We did have to pay to sit close to the water. And we did have a lot of vendors approaching us. But it wasn’t a problem for us. We enjoyed the experience we enjoyed sitting close to the water in our server was very friendly. If you ask for Roberto, he’ll definitely take care of you. He is further down on the beach."
