"We visited to watch Aguilas vs. Toros on 10/17/2025. We landed in Santiago at night, dropped our luggage, and headed straight to the stadium. Upon arrival, we were surrounded by a few guys trying to sell overpriced tickets. We refused because we didn’t have Dominican pesos, but they continued pressing us, which felt overwhelming.
Some street touts stood behind us at the ticket booth, signaling to the booth attendant not to sell to us. The booth staff claimed the seats we wanted were unavailable, offering only limited seat. It was a rainy day not a lot of people and the game was delayed. We didn’t want to get scammed by the street sellers, so we tried to purchase at the booth. When it was time to pay, the booth attendant said the credit card machine wasn’t functioning and seemed to push us toward paying with the street sellers’ friends. In the end, we had no choice but to buy from the street but the experience was very overwhelming. We were trying to get online tickets for days for this same reason but they were not available not even hours before the game.
Recommendation: please consider offering online or official booth sales to prevent tourists from going through this. We’re not planning to return."
