"We spend 3 days diving with this dive center. We have no complaints at all for them. We lucked out with great weather and a great crew to dive with. I had the joy in taking my daughter out for her first two dives. My friend did his advanced open water course while we all dove together. We all had a great time, they made this a bacation we will always cherish. Great customer service from all of them. Will 100% recommend and would dive with them again."

"This dive shop is located on the Iberostar Waves Playa Dorada grounds. We were staying there for a week and my youngest (14) wanted to do a Discover Scuba Diving Course. I am a PADI Instructor but non-teaching status, so could not do it myself. Francesco was an awesome instructor and made my kid feel at ease the entire time. We did the pool session on a Monday at the resort and the dives on Wednesday with the boat in Sosua. My wife and other child snorkeled while my kid did his dives with Francesco and I tagged along underwater. Great team at this shop."

"Our trip with Blue Tang Divers was excellent! We stopped in the DR on a cruise and did two tanks with them. Mr. Frances Redondo was incredibly helpful with logistics and helped to coordinate a flawless itinerary for us from the time our ship made port in Amber Cove to the time we returned. He even arranged a safe ride back to our port. It was clear they had experience working with cruise passengers.
The others on his crew, Johnson and Beta were very friendly and helpful as well. They outfitted us with gear and loaded everything into the van. We dove with Beta. He gave our dive briefing and pointed out various sea life during the dive. Both guys were incredibly friendly and it was clear they enjoy what they do.
I would absolutely dive with Blue Tang again. They made everything easy on us, their pricing was very fair, and both dives went great!"

Choosing Your PADI Certification Level
If you're short on time or just want to try diving, the Discover Scuba Diving program is an excellent option. It's a supervised, one-day experience that introduces you to the basics of scuba diving in a controlled environment. For those already certified, the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course helps you gain more experience and confidence by exploring different types of diving, such as deep diving, night diving, and underwater navigation.
When selecting a dive center, look for those with positive reviews, experienced instructors, and a good safety record. Many centers cater to international visitors and are adept at handling logistics for cruise ship passengers.
Dive Sites and Marine Life
Dive sites are typically accessed by boat, offering a comfortable journey to prime underwater locations. The visibility is generally good, especially during the winter months, providing excellent conditions for learning and exploration. The water temperature remains pleasant year-round, typically in the mid-70s to low-80s Fahrenheit (around 25-29°C), so you can dive comfortably in just a wetsuit.
While the focus of your certification will be on mastering diving skills, the opportunity to witness the underwater ecosystem is a significant bonus. Responsible diving practices are encouraged to help preserve these beautiful marine environments for future generations.
