Reviews Summary

Visitors praise La Caleta National Park for its beautiful, clear waters perfect for swimming and diving, and the exhilarating cliff jumping opportunities. The park offers a genuine local atmosphere and is conveniently located near Santo Domingo and the airport. However, some find the beach small and occasionally feel bothered by persistent locals, with ongoing construction impacting full amenity access.

"Located a mere 20 min from Santo Domingo and 5 min from the airport. An active community of open water swimmers, divers and free divers convene here every weekend and non-working days early in the morning. They come for the crystal clear and usually calm waters with shallow and deep areas. It is indeed an underwater national park. Easy entrance and access with safe parking with surveillance. Basic bathrooms facilities available for showering after swimming. Government has been building more advanced and comfortable bathrooms and showers for years but can't find the will and priority to finish the works. Once they do, it will be even more awesome for after swimming. There is military and tourist police personnel on site at all times."

"It's very beautiful warm ocean water here.. the beach is small but if you make the best of the small beach it is a great way to spend the day jumping off cliffs and enjoying the local atmosphere.
Everyone was really cool and the area was clean.
Take a trip, jump off cliffs, take a break and enjoy your day here!!"

Mike Ingle

"If you’re a visitor: The beach is nice but there’s locals who bother you basically the whole time. I went and left after 3 min because I did not feel safe at all. Neither did I waiting for my Uber."
