"Hotel Kommandørgården on Rømø, what a wonderful place. We stayed one week in January, the off-season, and were at times the only guests, yet we were warmly welcomed and had most services available.
Accommodations were made according to our food allergies (for example fish) and our meals were thought out and different, never had the same meal twice. We are vegetarian and never had the easy Spagetti with sauce, but always something special, even on Friday when the fish-buffet was full of guests.
The staff were always nice and helpful and could answer our questions in english or german.
We'd especially recommend a tour with the in-house islandic horses. They were wonderful and extremely chill for beginner riders, but also challenging enough for experienced riders.
All in all, we had a wonderful experience and would recommend everyone to go and get hyggelig (danish for comfortable and cosy) at Hotel Kommandørgården."

"We stayed in one of the older red cabins for about 3 nights. They serve as an alternative to your own camping trailer - you get some basic facilities with the shared showers and toilets outside. Our cabin was just a few meters away from the toilets and showers which, to my knowledge, were cleaned every day and, while looking somewhat dated (in the case of the showers), worked well, were always stocked with toilet paper, and weren't disgusting.

They looked very much like older Danish summer houses which was somewhat charming. What wasn't charming was the fact that the bedding and towels weren't included in the (fairly high) price and that the entire place looked kind of run-down, with the glasses and mugs on the shelves completely covered in dust.

Towards the end of our stay, we had two handymen show up at the cabin, saying they needed to replace our couch. Which they did and it was lovely to have a new couch, but it would have been great to know that in advance, instead of just randomly letting two strangers into our space when my partner and I wanted to take a nap after hiking.

The nature around it is quite beautiful. It's possible to take a walk on the beach just outside of the camp, look at some horses on the pastures around, and have fun on the playground nearby, which even has a bouncy castle. And there's a small shop and a bakery within short walking distance.

Overall, the place seemed like it's seen better days and like the management only used it as an easy way to make money without putting in too much effort into making it a pleasant place to be. It was alright for what it was, but I don't think I would stay there again."
