Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Ribe Viking Museum for its engaging exhibits and family-friendly atmosphere, particularly the children's play area. The multilingual displays are appreciated, though some note that detailed captions can be limited to Danish. The reenactment demonstrations add a dynamic element to the historical experience.

"Nice place to learn about viking history. All the story are writen in English also (not only in Danish). They have a complete collection to display.

My children’s favourite is the indoor playground in basement area. They can play with all the costume and toys that pretend they were in viking era. So exited.

Really recommended museum for family.

They have big parking area."

Denald

"One of two viking museums in the area and definitely worth a visit. Lots of display cases, dioramas and reconstructions telling the story of Ribe and it's Viking heritage. All of the displays are multi-lingual, Danish, German and English, so good for those who don't speak Danish. There is so much to see that it is easy to miss a section, so take your time, don't rush it! Happy to recommend it."

John Thompson

"Nice museum about Ribe during the Viking age as well as during the Middle Ages. A real pain is that the text is poorly placed in the cabinet, this makes it sometime very hard to read. Also only the main text in each cabinet is in Danish, English and German. All details on fotos, drawings and found artifacts are only in Danish. Yes, I know with AI 🤖 it’s possible to do the translation. But for such an important museum I would have expected everything in these 3 languages and not only the introduction."
