What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Trekroner Fort offers a unique historical experience with stunning harbor views, though some visitors note that parts of the fort are in disrepair due to ongoing redevelopment. The journey by boat is a highlight, and the fort's military significance is a draw for history enthusiasts.
"Trekroner fort is a sea fort close to the Copenhagen harbour. It was constructed in the year 1787. The fort was an important part of the Danish line of defense during several wars and had a lot of military significance. Currently it looks like an abandoned building. Visited it as part of a canal tour."

"Great insight into Danish history. Love that you can only access by water and that in doing so you can learn about the nearby naval base (depending on your guide of course). Access points and stairs are very well maintained and the views on a good day are amazing and far reaching. Feels like, when I went, that it’s under redevelopment which is only a good thing as more could be made of it, however a fascinating 20min stop as part of a larger tour."

"It's a pity that the Trekroner Fort is left to decay and rot.😞 The exhibition panels, which explain the historical facts about the artificial island fortress, which was part of the fortification of Copenhagen from 1713 to WW 1
are broken, the video about the battle of Copenhagen of 1801 is closed and there is no coffee shop anymore and no toilet. So sad, but the panorama is still beautiful."
