Reviews Summary

Visitors find Elværket Hillerød to be a cozy and interesting museum, particularly praising the 'Ad Libitum' exhibition for its interactive nature and informative content on historical meals. It's considered a worthwhile visit for those interested in food history and local heritage, offering a good experience for both adults and children within a 1-2 hour timeframe. Reddit+1

"Then I visited the Elværket in Hillerød. It is a small museum, but like many small museums it has managed to create an interesting exhibition entitled "Ad Libitum. The Meal for 8000 Years" based on the findings that have been made in the area. There was a lot of information that I did not know.
There are also some short films where archaeobotanists, anthropologists and zoologists tell more about what they work with and how the findings can shed light on the history of the meal.
You can also participate in a long series of lectures that shed light on the meal."

Mette Korsholm

"Nice little museum. Takes about 1-2 hours to go through. When we visited they had the Ad libitum exhibition, which was really nice and went over different aspects of food back in time with a focus on oysters, the remains of which have been found in the North Zealand area. It was quite an interactive exhibition, so I imagine it's also good for children :)"

Camilla Strunge Nielsen

"Cozy little museum. Spent about an hour at the exhibition, which was clear and interesting"
