Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the beautiful and well-maintained Baroque gardens, offering a serene escape and fairytale-like atmosphere. While the palace interior has limited access, the exterior is impressive, and the surrounding park and lake provide further enjoyment. Parking can be a challenge, and interior tours require advance booking.

"Nice castle park to wander around in nature. The castle itself is not available for general tourists, yet looks beautiful. There's a lovely little fort of the same name at a coast nearby providing spectacular views of northern Copenhagen."

Mike Kalishuk

"Nice big palace and gardens - please be aware, that one can't tour the castle without a) a guide and b) booking tickets online beforehand. The botanical gardens and park are however free to walk around, and very, very well maintained, with plenty of seats, and a long tree lined avenue leading down to the lake. Note that there isn't very much parking in the surrounding area, so if you drive there on a busy day, you might just be out of luck, unless you manage to park legally in the nearby suburb and aren't afraid of a bit of a walk."

nick ede

"The palace offers guided tours to see inside the royal residence. But only in July, and with a guide. Well worth it. The guy who led us seemed to know everything about all the items inside the castle. Incredible!"
