What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors love the unique perspective offered by paddle boating on the Vltava and the peaceful atmosphere of Slovanský ostrov. The island provides a lovely escape with beautiful views, and nearby spots offer stunning, less crowded photo opportunities. Some find the children's train a charming addition.
"One of my most favourite places in Prague in any season!
A lovely island with beautiful views right in the city centre with rich history. You can enjoy a calm walk or sit down and admire the wonderful views of the Prague Castle, the National Theatre or Petřín, etc. There is also a playground for kids, Žofín Palace for various events and the opportunity to borrow pedal boats in the summer/autumn.
It is good to know that it is used daily by locals (like me xd) to walk dogs, so be aware that there may be unleashed dogs wandering around. Sometimes (especially in summer) there are groups of mostly teenagers drinking/smoking etc., so there's that, but nothing you couldn't deal with, and the experience is worth it.
You can visit this island a million times and every time it will be spectacular."

"A nice green area to wander around and escape the bustle of the city. You can, also, see the Zofin Palace.
During the winter there is not a lot to do, so it is not worth a special trip.
The area was rubbish free."

"Relaxing spot with clean toilet"
