What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Prague's public transport, particularly Tram 22, is praised for its efficiency and scenic routes, offering a convenient way to access major attractions like Prague Castle. However, visitors must be extremely diligent with ticket validation to avoid significant fines, as enforcement is strict. Some users found the 30-minute ticket insufficient for longer journeys.
"We have just fallen foul of the transport regulations and are very unhappy! We purchased 2 72hour tickets upon our arrival in Praha on Thursday and, as stated on the Tourist office website stamped them dutyfully everytime we started our journey. It tells you to do so quite clearly on the Tourist Information website! So we were good and did do religiously! Just got stopped by the transport police and find E45 für ihre and 1000CK for the other, as we didn't have enough CK to pay 2 fines. They could clearly see wet had tickets, wet even had the receipt of when there tickets were bought. All no good! I am really disappointed, it's my birthday today, it sure did spoil the day. Information needs to be more accurate and consistent! Walked back in the pouring rain, add they even have us only one timed ticket to get back to the hotel. Prague is NOT going to attract tourists like that!"

"Don't want to know WHAT Ticket vending machines are, but WHERE"

"The metro is exceptionally efficient. Unfortunately, buses and trams are unpredictable.
A 30-minute ticket is a scam when the average journey to and from Prague city center is about 40 minutes, and you can be sure you'll be visited by ticket inspectors right at the last stop with a 500-kilo fine. The two of us spent 1,000-kilo for a 6-minute ticket. Cheap thieves."
