The Glass Bar offers a pleasant atmosphere with reasonably priced drinks for many, and the outdoor terrace provides an unforgettable perspective of the city, especially at sunset. "We visited here as I had seen posts about it before our arrival in Prague.
The glass bar is lovely, very warm and gets quite busy.
We paid to go on to the outdoor patio area - the views of the river and city from here are great - ours was limited due to fog but being able to sit down with a drink and take in wha we could see was welcome!
Bar service was quick, and the staff were smiley and helpful."

"Absolutely loved the view, service, and outdoor seating.
The view is breathtaking and panoramic, the staff are very friendly, and the prices are reasonable—unlike other rooftops where you pay triple the amount. Definitely worth checking out!
It’s mostly suited for drinks and snacks.
This place also has historical significance: it was heavily bombed in WWII, and the modern building was constructed to symbolize Czechia’s shift toward a more democratic and free society (at least, that’s how I understood the information)."

"Beautiful view with very reasonably priced drinks. It cost 150 czk per person for access to observation tower with it being free for children under 12. Worth the visit for the beautiful view of the city you can even see petrin tower from a far through the free telescope. It was quite busy in the bar itself when we visited but the observation terrance was very quiet."

While the terrace is great for a quick visit and some photos, it's primarily a bar setting. Consider visiting during the day or earlier in the evening to avoid the largest crowds and ensure a more relaxed experience for younger children. The walk to the terrace involves stairs after the elevator, so keep that in mind for strollers.

Sunset is a prime time for photographers, with the golden hour light bathing the city in a warm glow. Bringing a tripod is highly recommended to capture sharp, detailed shots, especially in lower light conditions. Be prepared for crowds during these popular times, and consider visiting during off-peak hours for more unobstructed shots.

The intimate atmosphere of the Glass Bar, combined with the breathtaking views, makes it an ideal spot for a date night or a special occasion. Consider visiting on a weekday evening to potentially enjoy a more serene and intimate ambiance.

The Architecture of the Dancing House
The building's design, with its contrasting glass and concrete elements, has made it an iconic landmark and a popular subject for photographers and architecture enthusiasts. The name 'Fred and Ginger' comes from its resemblance to a pair of dancers.
Visiting the rooftop offers a unique perspective not only of the city but also of the building's innovative design, allowing visitors to appreciate its artistic and historical significance from above.
Experiencing the Rooftop Views
Many visitors highlight the sunset as a particularly magical time to be on the terrace, as the city lights begin to twinkle and cast a warm glow over the historic skyline. However, this is also when the terrace tends to be busiest.
While the outdoor terrace offers the most expansive views, the indoor Glass Bar also provides a pleasant atmosphere with city vistas, especially on less favorable weather days. Some reviews suggest that if you're not seated at the very edge of the indoor bar, the view might be limited.
Navigating Crowds and Costs
To access the terrace, you have a couple of options: purchase a drink at the Glass Bar or pay a separate entrance fee, which is around 150 CZK. Some travelers suggest that buying a drink is often a more cost-effective way to enjoy the views.
While some reviews mention reasonable prices for drinks compared to other rooftop spots, others found them to be typical tourist prices. It's important to note that the terrace is primarily suited for drinks and snacks, not a full dining experience.
