What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Church of St. John the Baptist in Paštiky for its breathtaking High Baroque architecture and beautiful hilltop setting. The recent renovations have been well-received, ensuring the church is in excellent condition. However, access can be limited, often only available during mass times, which can be a point of frustration for those hoping to explore freely.
"If your steps lead you to South Bohemian Blatná, don't forget to visit the church of St. John the Baptist in Paštyky, 3 km to the north. It is the last work in the spirit of High Baroque by the builder Kilián Ignác Dientzenhofer, built for the donor Baroness Alžběta Serényiová and her husband, the owners of the Blaten Water Castle and the adjacent estate. The reconstruction of the dilapidated church was completed in 2019, just before the arrival of covid. So only this year this church is open to the public. It is a breathtaking building, with a sensitive setting in the landscape, exactly in the spirit of the Baroque. I highly recommend it☝️🤓"

"The church is currently inaccessible, interestingly disordered distribution of graves incl. those located almost in the second gate."
