Reviews Summary
Pernera Beach is praised for its excellent food and friendly staff, with many guests enjoying the beautiful beachfront location and lively entertainment. However, some find the hotel dated, the pool area overcrowded, and the evening noise disruptive. Room sizes and inconsistent staff attitudes are also noted drawbacks.
"eview – Pernera Beach Hotel
Pros
The lunch and dinner buffet is excellent – classic dishes, well-prepared and of high quality.
Some of the seasonal staff maintain a very professional standard and gave a positive impression.
Cons
The hotel is marketed as newly renovated but feels worn in several areas.
The pool area is overcrowded. Guests queue long before opening to rush in and reserve sunbeds, leaving little space for others.
Rooms are small and not suitable for families with young children. The minibar contains only one bottle of water, which guests are expected to refill themselves throughout the stay.
Every night, without exception, there is loud entertainment from around 8:30 pm until midnight. The volume is so high that it is impossible to sleep, even with doors and windows closed – making the hotel feel more like a party destination than a family resort.
Staff attitude is inconsistent. Some days friendly, other days condescending. The impression is that the hotel is run like a family circle – but as a guest, you are not part of it.
The decisive experience
On our last day, it became painfully clear how little the hotel cares for its guests. Check-out was at 12:00, but our transfer bus did not leave until 16:45. That left us with more than five hours without a room – with a 5.5-month-old baby, during a heatwave that had prompted official warnings.
When we asked for a late check-out, we were met with a smile and an almost mocking “no”. The only option offered was to sign up for a 30-minute slot in a changing room – with no guarantee.
We were left in the lobby, where the AC was either turned off or not working. The reception staff made no effort to help – but had set up their own little fan behind the desk to keep themselves cool. We had to take turns fanning our baby to prevent him from overheating, while the staff looked on.
For a hotel that promotes itself as family-friendly and family-run, this was not just poor service – it was morally inhumane.
Conclusion
The food is outstanding, but everything else – the service, the noise, the lack of child-friendliness, and above all the absence of basic human care – means we cannot recommend this hotel. Instead of feeling welcome, we felt like we were in the way."

"Have just returned on Friday 11/7 having had a wonderful 2 weeks there . The food was amazing with a fantastic variety . The reception staff, waiting staff, bar staff, cleaning staff , in fact all the staff were incredible . Polite , incredibly helpful and courteous. The grounds of hotel are amazing , spotlessly clean, always someone tidying up , cleaning etc. The entertainment was really good , but hats off to Andrei and Vlad they were absolutely awesome !!! Activities during the day for everyone to participate , and the evenings as well . Saw several weddings which were amazing .
The sunbed routine is brilliant , best set up I’ve seen . There are more than enough sun beds for everyone , but most people want them by the pool, which is absolutely fine, Beat queuing system ever and the life guard was amazing, if he saw someone trying to sneak there towels on before he had given the go ahead he would tell the or just remove the towels . Awesome !!
Booking for next year and taking the rest of the family !!! I can’t bloody wait !!!
Overall 10/10"

"Great holiday resort! Staff were all very helpful and accommodating (keep reading). The evening entertainment was corny as expected but in a good way. The Oasis tribute was funny and Andreas’s MJ act was decent - shouts to Andreas and Franck for keeping everyone smiling. They even got everyone to sing me happy birthday and Bingo was more fun than I thought so played that 3 times….. and lost 😝!
Food was really good every day without fail! Lots to choose from and the deserts were crazy good! No need to venture out to other restaurants to get the “taste of Cyprus” it’s fine.
The Beach was beautiful and the whole setting was picturesque - we saw 5 or 6 weddings there in one week it was that stunning! The main swimming pool was just right, nothing crazy (only the kids having fun). The adult pool was exactly that…..adults. The life guards were all over it to ensure nobody under age got in there.
That’s all the good bits. Now onto the advice. I appreciate people are on a budget, however, please note that an “inland view” is very much a roll of the dice. When we got to our room, the view was facing a supermarket and the car park - not mountainous views and luscious greenery. Also, we were directly above the back of the main restaurant area where their deliveries and trash was, not to mention the industrial vents and machinery - it was awful.
This is where the staff being accommodating came in (for a price). We quickly made a call and were given a sea and pool view room for just over an extra £100 which was well worth it in the moment. If you can afford the extra, you should definitely get a sea and/or pool view to save possible disappointment on an otherwise brilliant resort. Thanks to the staff for their help.
Lastly, the restaurant staff (specifically Kirolos, Maria and the lovely lady who welcomes everyone to the outside area of the Kamares restaurant) couldn’t do enough for everyone….consistent top tier service.
We’ll be back!"
