What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Baths of Aphrodite a charming, free-to-enter site with beautiful coastal views and a connection to ancient mythology. While the grotto itself is modest, the surrounding botanical garden and the option to explore nearby trails or combine the visit with other attractions like the Blue Lagoon make it a worthwhile stop for many.
"We drove here from Paphos with our rental car, and it took us about an hour. I came specifically for this place, drawn by the legends of Aphrodite. The site includes a charming little botanical garden with different local trees and plants, and the entrance is free, which is a nice surprise.
However, the highlight – whether you call it a pool, a fountain, or a small waterfall – is rather modest. It’s more of a quick photo spot than a destination in itself. Unfortunately, there isn’t much else to do or see once you’re here.
I would recommend visiting only if you’re also planning a trip to the Blue Lagoon or other nearby attractions. On its own, it doesn’t really justify the journey, but it’s still an interesting stop if you’re already in the area."

"spent an easy couple of hours here, it's a lovely area, not a massive amount to do, nice walk around the bath's area which is very pretty, and has a garden area to walk around. Good views of the sea and a couple of places to eat and drink. We took the bus from Latchi and cost us 4 euro return, so quite cheap really, and breaks up a day, also there is a restaurant near by, and in front of that a path down to a beach."

"The Baths of Aphrodite are well worth a visit if you're in the area. Easy parking outside and a short five minutes walk will take you to the area where the Baths of Aphrodite are. This location is also home to some spectacular views of the locals bays. Highly recommend a visit."

The Legend of Aphrodite
The site itself is a small, natural grotto shaded by an old fig tree, with water trickling down the rocks into a pool. While bathing is no longer permitted, the serene atmosphere and the connection to such a powerful myth make it a unique and memorable stop. Many visitors feel a special connection to the place, imagining the goddess in her sanctuary.
This connection to mythology is a significant draw, making the Baths of Aphrodite more than just a natural landmark; it's a portal to ancient stories and a place where legend feels tangible.
Exploring the Akamas Peninsula
Two popular hiking trails start from the Baths: the Aphrodite Trail and the Adonis Trail. The Aphrodite Trail is a circular route offering breathtaking views of the coast and the surrounding hills, while the Adonis Trail is more challenging and takes you deeper into the peninsula's natural beauty. Both trails are well-marked and provide a fantastic way to experience the wild charm of Akamas.
Beyond hiking, the Akamas Peninsula is famous for the nearby Blue Lagoon, a crystal-clear bay perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Many visitors combine a trip to the Baths of Aphrodite with an excursion to the Blue Lagoon, often as part of organized jeep safaris or boat trips, making it a full day of adventure and natural beauty.
Practicalities and Visitor Experience
Many reviews suggest that the Baths of Aphrodite are best enjoyed as part of a larger itinerary, rather than a standalone destination. Combining it with visits to the Blue Lagoon, nearby beaches, or hikes on the Akamas Peninsula enhances the overall experience. The journey itself, whether by car or bus, offers scenic routes, adding to the adventure.
While some may find the grotto smaller than expected, the natural beauty, the mythical connection, and the panoramic vistas contribute to a worthwhile visit for those exploring the Paphos region.
