"What a unique experience with our group learning about tobacco farming in Vinales, Cuba. One of the region's famous farming locations in the country. Learning the growing, farming, and drying process into the rolling of the leaves, was a very personalized and unique experience. Getting to the farm is difficult, so it is best on horseback. We rented horses from a local farmer nearby; they were well-nourished and kind creatures.
Along the 20-minute route, you see the life of Cuban-style farm homes and their way of living.
We also got the lay of the land with the other natural products; coffee and honey on our trip. Of course, you can't leave without trying the rum of the farm. It was a true eye-opener hearing the experience of the farmer and his humble beginnings in the tobacco industry."
