Cayo Granma is cherished for its unique island charm and the scenic ferry journey. Visitors appreciate the authentic glimpse into Cuban island life and the relaxed atmosphere. However, some reviews mention concerns about environmental cleanliness, which can detract from the overall experience for certain travelers.

"One of my all time favorite places to escape to"

"Great location"

Markus Koch

"A small fishing island in the bay of Santiago de Cuba. The island itself isn't big... you can walk around it in 20 to 30 minutes. In the middle, slightly elevated, there's a small church. The island has three or four restaurants (some of them are a bit more expensive). Is it worth it anyway? Yes, because Cayo Granma has a certain charm, and the ferry crossing is an experience in itself.

Best option: Take a ferry from the Malecon in Santiago de Cuba. Then you drive across the entire bay. We didn't make it due to gas. Alternatively, you can take the ferry not far from San Pedro Castle. It runs once an hour and costs 1 CUC per person."
