What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Ovčice Beach is praised for its incredibly clear, blue waters and shallow areas ideal for families. Visitors appreciate the promenade and play equipment. However, the pebble shore can be uncomfortable, and some find the limited amenities and potential for loud music disruptive, especially given the cost of sunbeds.
"I can't say this was my favorite beach in croatia, while it's still beautiful and breathtaking, I was not a fan of the pebbles, or the cement. Perhaps it was just the time of the year that I was there or the time of day, but there was very little in the sense of Sun beds and umbrellas. If you do decide to visit, bring your own waters, juices, refreshments, lunch and snacks, as the beach has very little to offer. While the water was very clean and very blue, the whole experience left me wanting for something a little more."

"Excellent place to cool down. Good thing with those beach is very swallow if you have children or want to throw ball to each other, or sit in the water etc.
Also, has 'sand' which is a great alternative to concrete and sharp stones so common at Euro beaches. If beach is too full, then walk around to your east (to the left looking out to sea) where there is a diving board and deeper water etc. Around there is only concrete to lie on."
Simon Cope
"Nice and clear water, pebbles and stones make it hard to enjoy. Next beaches on both sides offer sand beaches, yet here is less windy comparatively. You can sun bath at the park benches or play chess with locals. Bonus: Cute cafe available"

Navigating the Pebbles: Comfort and Care
For those with children, the shallow, gentle waters on the eastern side are a significant advantage, allowing kids to play safely. The promenade behind the beach offers a paved surface, which is easier to navigate and features play equipment, making it a good option for families looking for a break from the pebbles. Remember to bring your own refreshments and snacks, as on-site facilities are minimal, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable day without needing to leave the beach.
Beyond the Beach: Local Charm and Activities
For those seeking a bit more activity or a different beach experience, exploring the areas adjacent to Ovčice Beach is recommended. To the east, you'll find deeper water and concrete areas suitable for sunbathing, which can be a good alternative if the main pebble beach is crowded. While Ovčice itself is more about relaxation and swimming, its proximity to Trogir, a UNESCO World Heritage site, means that historical exploration and a wider array of dining and entertainment options are just a short trip away.
